AB  - Reports that the introduction of the local management of schools (LMS) was one of the main features of the Education Reform Act (1988). Considers the effects of LMS on four London schools in contrasting socio‐economic areas, in order to evaluate the impact of of LMS on the ethos of the four schools and its effects on staff attitude, thus enabling an examination of the success of LMS as an agent of change.
