Abstract

As more material is available electronically, librarians are beginning to realize the hidden costs of printing. Users want to access information electronically and take a hard copy or printout with them. Many libraries are beginning to examine the costs of providing printouts and to look for ways to recover costs and control excessive printing. Reviews concerns associated with printing and offers suggestions for recovering at least some of the associated costs.
