AB  - Purpose– The purpose of this paper is to point out that it is likely that if research is to be done about library finances, working librarians will probably have to take the lead.Design/methodology/approach– The paper discusses why librarians should take charge of doing research about library finances.Findings– More research needs to be done to help librarians maximize their resources.Originality/value– The paper is a call for librarians to take action to overcome the dearth of research done about library finances.
