Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this article is to discuss library budgets.
Design/methodology/approach
Provides a viewpoint on library budgets.
Findings
Librarians must accept much of the burden for our condition. We have not been politically effective; we have not adequately made our case; we have not proposed the new program or project that will open the door to a brighter future. We can do better; it is time to get about it.
