Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to highlight the importance of librarians and library staff in a successful development program.

Design/methodology/approach

Narrative article to emphasize that successful library development programs require the input and support from librarians and library staff.

Findings

Library development programs do not operate in a vacuum and in fact draw upon the talents of many key personnel throughout the library.

Originality/value

Practical suggestions for incorporating the whole library organization into development and fundraising efforts.
