Managing Mr Kipling′s Way

Abstract

Discusses medical and management tasks and their relation within the NHS context. Stresses the importance of doctors in effective management of the service in relation to leadership, policy and strategy making and in contributing to the wider debates on quality, efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency of outcome. Emphasizes the need for doctors to intervene in terms of setting medical priorities for the health authority and to contribute fully to this process.
