Abstract

Derives the equation of motion in matrix form of a rotating cantilever beam with constant in‐plane base acceleration based on Hamilton’s principle and the assumed mode method. Investigates the effects of varying parameters such as rotational speed of the beam, base radius, length, and internal damping of the beam on unstable regions.
