TY - JOUR AB - Non‐academic information systems (IS) and information technology (IT) related magazines have been commonly used by the IS practitioners as main sources to obtain information about state‐of‐the‐art information technologies. These trade magazines are also useful to information systems faculties for keeping abreast of new developments in IT and for supporting teaching and research. This paper presents the results of a survey which solicited the perception of IS faculties regarding the relative quality and usefulness of the computer print magazines and provides lists of top‐ranked ones in support of teaching and research activities. Results of a similar survey for the practitioner are included for comparison. Reasons of deviation between the two results are analysed.
