Abstract

Philips has a sophisticated approach to both organisation and management development, and the processes chosen by Philips Singapore to achieve success in both areas are described. The basis of all activities in the development of managers in the company is helping them to learn from work experiences, and these are purposefully linked to the organisation development process. Team‐building for managers is used as the major example of how management development can help the development of the organisation.
