PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: THE LIBRARIAN′S CHALLENGE

Abstract

Performance indicators are described as political tools in use, being largely subjective. Clear objectives, matching the benefits sought by various groups, will allow measurement of the right kind of outputs – not inputs which usually relate to cost‐effectiveness, not benefits.
