Abstract

Describes the general character and aims of Local Environmental Agency plans. Briefly covers the Agency and it’s structure, outlining examples of work covered, such as recycling and water conservation. Briefly profiles some examples from Wales, explaining the issues faced and the programme aims. Identifies common themes which run through the varied plans and concludes that these provide an important framework for future, locally based environment management, emphasising community partnership and sustainability.
