Effective management in the trucking industry
Abstract
Briefly looks at the issues within the trucking industry in relation to safety, environmental pressures and the reliance other industries have upon their services. Considers the service/maintenance costs and the labour relations within the industry. Provides case studies to highlight these issues. Mentions the role of the North American Free Trade Agreement in harmonizing standards. Concludes that efficient management can not only increase productivity but improve safety and reduce pollution.
